| Avon Coffin Works began in 1999, when Glenn Brix began looking for a new project. He has always enjoyed woodworking and over the years has built items such as furniture, rocking horses, and even canoes. He was ready for a fresh challenge and started looking into wooden coffins. After his wife, Kathy, told him he couldn't build coffins at the house, he knew he had found his new hobby. He started researching laws and designs and realized there was a great need for quality, beautiful coffins at affordable prices. |

As Avon Coffin Works has grown, it has really turned into a family business. Kathy, Glenn's wife, sews the linings and pillows. Jacob, Glenn's son, also enjoys woodworking and has began to help out in the shop when it gets busy. Julianna, Glenn's daughter, helps out with photography and design work needed for the company. All four have a critical eye and believe the quality of work they put out reflects on themselves. In addition to the company growing with employees, it has also grown in work area. Since starting, Glenn has added on additional work space and a showroom/storage area. His latest addition is a new kiln so that he is able to dry more lumber at a time.
